Autauga County Municipal Court Warrants
An Autauga County municipal warrant lives in a city's own court. It does not sit in the county system. Prattville Municipal Court hears City of Prattville traffic citations and ordinance cases. Autaugaville Municipal Court keeps a separate phone and mailing contact for town citations. Sitting in Autauga County does not move these files into Circuit Court. The city court that set your date keeps control of the setting. It also keeps the warrant and any recall. Miss that date. The court can then issue an arrest order. Alabama Rule of Criminal Procedure 3.1(c) calls this a writ of arrest. It applies after a failed appearance. It also applies to an unserved summons in the circumstances the rule describes. The state form index uses Alias Warrant of Arrest for Failure of Defendant to Appear. Those are the accepted Alabama terms. Autauga County official sources do not borrow another state's fine-collection label. A warrant is separate from the citation underneath it. The city court may want a plea, payment, appearance, bond, or a new hearing. Only the issuing court can say which step clears the warrant. Only it can say what still remains in the case.
Autauga County Cities With Municipal Courts
Prattville and Autaugaville have verified municipal-court channels in Autauga County. Pine Level and Billingsley publish none. There is no court phone, address, payment portal, or police warrant page. The four-city table keeps that gap honest. A missing listing is not proof no court exists. It just means you must confirm through the town itself.
| City | Municipal Court | Warrant Types | Phone |
|---|---|---|---|
| Prattville | Prattville Municipal Court | City traffic, ordinance, and related FTA or warrant matters | 334-595-0450 |
| Pine Level | No official town-court source located | Follow the citing agency and court printed on the document | No verified court number located |
| Autaugaville | Autaugaville Municipal Court | Town citation, municipal case, and possible missed-setting arrest order | 334-365-9335 |
| Billingsley | No official town-court source located | Follow the citing agency and court printed on the document | No verified court number located |
Population does not set jurisdiction in Autauga County. Pine Level's shift from a census-designated place to an incorporated listing does not put its residents in Prattville Municipal Court. Billingsley's small size proves nothing either. The issuer printed on the paper controls the first step.
Autauga County Municipal Warrant Boundaries
Prattville states its rule plainly. The court takes payment only for tickets written inside the City of Prattville. A state trooper or Autauga County deputy ticket belongs at the Autauga County courthouse. It does not belong at City Hall. Autaugaville tickets go through Autaugaville's own court contact. Check this boundary before a missed date and after one. Paying the wrong office never resolves the real docket.
| Document source | Record holder | What not to assume |
|---|---|---|
| Prattville officer | Prattville Municipal Court | That the Autauga County Traffic Clerk owns it |
| Autaugaville citation | Autaugaville Municipal Court, as confirmed through the official Prattville FAQ | That Prattville City Hall can accept it |
| County deputy or trooper | Autauga District Traffic Court when cited there | That any municipal portal covers it |
| Unknown Pine Level or Billingsley issuer | Court printed on the citation | That residence creates a city-court case |
The Prattville payment page lists the city-only ticket rule and pre-date payment methods. County traffic routing and missed-date fallout are covered in the Autauga County traffic warrant search.
Checking a Municipal Court Warrant
Prattville and Autaugaville publish no official warrant-search portal or public name roster. With no searchable list, a blank result can never work as clearance. The sheriff posts no public Autauga County active-warrant list either. So start there. Checking an Autauga County municipal warrant begins with calling the court. Then read the document's identifiers.
- Read the issuer and court. Use the city, officer agency, citation number, case number, and date printed on the notice. Do not route by home address alone.
- Contact the city court. Prattville provides 334-595-0450 and municipalcourt@prattvilleal.gov. Autaugaville provides 334-365-9335 and P.O. Box 237, Autaugaville, AL 36003.
- Ask a precise status question. Ask whether a setting was missed, whether an alias FTA warrant or writ of arrest issued, and whether an appearance, bond, payment, or court request is required.
- Use the record-request route for documents. Prattville has an online municipal record-request page, although its live fields and current fees were not captured. Autaugaville's comparable form was not located.
- Use the sheriff channel for a county-held concern. The Sheriff requires the person to appear with valid ID at 162 W. 4th Street and says warrant status is not verified by telephone.
Alabama runs no public statewide warrant-name database, and payment services are no substitute. In Autauga County, if appearing could mean custody, a defense lawyer can help confirm the court and plan the response.
Autauga County Municipal Warrant Contacts
Autaugaville offers a real but narrow route within Autauga County. Prattville's official Municipal Court FAQ sends Autaugaville ticket questions to Autaugaville Municipal Court, P.O. Box 237, Autaugaville, AL 36003, at 334-365-9335. The town posts no warrant interface or hours page. It posts no payment portal or fine chart. There is no officer roster, street address, or record-request form. Ask the court to confirm each current requirement.

With an Autaugaville citation, ask the town court directly. Has it stayed just a citation? Does it carry a failure-to-appear notation? Or has it produced a municipal warrant? The county sheriff route cannot substitute for that city-court answer. Pine Level and Billingsley get no invented contacts here. If a document from either town names a city court, confirm the office before relying on it. Check it through the issuing town or agency in Autauga County. Note: A mailing address shows where papers may be sent, not where a person should appear or surrender.
Inside a Municipal Court Warrant
Every court file looks a little different. An Autauga County municipal warrant record may carry many fields. Some come from Alabama forms. Others come from local case procedures. Nothing here promises a public Prattville or Autaugaville display of those items. Ask the issuing court which fields exist. Ask which ones are open to view.
| Citation or case number | The city court identifier used to locate the underlying matter; no local public number format was verified. |
|---|---|
| Person and allegation | The named defendant and the city traffic or ordinance allegation tied to the case. |
| Issuing court | The municipal court whose judge or magistrate controls the case and any recall. |
| Failure to appear | The missed setting or failed summons that may precede an alias warrant or writ of arrest. |
| Bond or appearance term | A court-confirmed condition. No Autauga municipal warrant bond schedule was located. |
| Status or disposition | Whether the court confirms the warrant as active, served, recalled, or withdrawn, and whether the case itself is still open. |
"Recalled" means the court withdrew the order. "Served" means officers carried it out; the charge is not over. The final outcome of the case is a separate question for the issuing court in Autauga County.
Autauga County Municipal Warrant Records
Prattville keeps an official municipal-court record-request page. The form is built right into it. That page lists no fee, no response time, and no rules for attachments or proof of identity. Ask the court directly before filing. A good request names the case, the citation, the person, the document wanted, and whether certification is needed. Those are practical tips, not confirmed form fields. Autauga County requesters also lean on state law. Alabama Public Records Law gives residents inspection and copying rights, subject to statutes, court rules, and the office's own process. Ala. Code section 36-12-45 lets a public officer set the request method, forms, and coordination steps. Follow them. An Autauga County request sent outside those steps need not get an answer.
- Record request
- A request for a document the court may lawfully release, not a live warrant-status service.
- Sealed record
- A file restricted by court order or law.
- Juvenile record
- A generally confidential record category with limited public access.
- Court compliance
- An action the issuing court requires before it confirms a case or related hold is cleared.
Autaugaville posts no matching record form. Pine Level and Billingsley list no court-request route either. A records request to any Autauga County city court does not force the Sheriff to verify warrants by phone or create a statewide name search.
How to Resolve a Municipal Court Warrant
Start with the issuing city court. Early payment helps sometimes. A payment before the due date may dispose of an eligible Prattville citation. Its published terms control. Paying after a missed setting cannot be assumed to recall an Autauga County municipal warrant. The court may instead require an appearance, a reset, bond, payment, or a lawyer's motion. No self-help recall form or set city-warrant bond amount is posted.
- Confirm the record. Ask the city court whether a warrant or writ is active and what setting led to it.
- Ask for the current procedure. Determine whether a personal appearance is required, whether bond has been set, and whether the court will consider a reset or recall request.
- Follow the correct court's instruction. Use Prattville for Prattville city cases and Autaugaville for that town's cases. Follow the document for any other issuer.
- Address the underlying case. A recall or bond does not dismiss the traffic or ordinance allegation or remove later dates.
- Confirm each result. Ask whether the warrant is recalled, whether the case is disposed, what the next date is, and whether any separate state compliance remains.
Warning: A city payment receipt alone does not prove an Autauga County municipal warrant was recalled or the court case was closed.
Talk to a lawyer before any surrender. Ask about bond first. The Sheriff tells anyone with a known county warrant to check with the Circuit Clerk before turning in. That county guidance never replaces an Autauga County municipal court's own directions.
Verify an Autauga County Municipal Warrant
Say a Prattville court date came and went. Go to that city court first in Autauga County, not the county Traffic Clerk. Hand over the citation or case number. Then ask four things: Was the required date missed? Did the court issue an alias FTA warrant or a writ of arrest? Must you appear in person? What act will the court recognize before it recalls the warrant? Those answers give you a real path. Autauga County has more than one city court, so match the paper to the place. For an Autaugaville matter, use its separate court number. A paper naming Pine Level or Billingsley needs the issuing agency and named court confirmed. Never assume either town runs a municipal warrant office. If a deputy or trooper filed the case, it went to District Court. That is a county matter instead. Once you pay, appear, post bond, or take court action, get confirmation straight from the city court. In Autauga County, only the right city court can give it. Ask the clerk whether the warrant is active, recalled, served, or withdrawn. Ask whether a new hearing is set. Ask whether the underlying case stays open. Keep the receipt and any written notice. An Autauga County municipal warrant is truly resolved only when the right city court confirms two things. It must confirm the arrest order. It must confirm the case status. Note: Municipal court staff handle records and procedure, but they cannot promise an outcome or give legal advice about a plea.
